Job Description

Nashville Pharmacy Services LLC is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, Strategic Initiatives to independently own complex analytical workstreams that support high-priority financial, operational, and strategic decisions. The role will translate business questions into structured analyses and deliver executive-ready decision support using QuickBooks, Power BI, and related data tools.

Role Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst, Strategic Initiatives will develop business cases and analytical models, perform deep-dive investigations into performance drivers, and validate assumptions across financial, transactional, and operational datasets. Deliverables include concise executive presentations and financial briefings that communicate key assumptions, risks, findings, and recommended actions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build business cases, pro formas, ROI models, and scenario analyses to evaluate operational changes, growth opportunities, reimbursement shifts, contract economics, and strategic investments.
  • Conduct deep-dive investigations into material financial and operational performance issues to identify root causes, quantify financial impact, and separate true business trends from timing or reporting anomalies.
  • Integrate and analyze financial, transactional, and operational datasets using QuickBooks and BI platforms; validate key assumptions, investigate material inconsistencies, and develop evidence-based recommendations.
  • Prepare executive-ready presentations and financial briefings that clearly communicate assumptions, risks, findings, and recommended next steps.
  • Lead analytical workstreams for strategic initiatives, pro formas, process improvement projects, vendor and contract analyses, and cross-functional problem resolution.
  • Translate ambiguous financial or business questions into structured analytical plans by clarifying decision objectives, identifying data requirements, and validating assumptions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and with external stakeholders to gather facts, align deliverables, and support follow-through on strategic priorities.
  • Partner with technical resources on BI tools, analytics, and reporting automation by defining business requirements, validation logic, and data governance controls.
  • Monitor project milestones, proactively communicate changes in scope or risk, and escalate material financial decisions to leadership when appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related quantitative field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and progressive professional experience.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial analysis, corporate finance, healthcare finance, or decision support.
  • Demonstrated experience using QuickBooks (or similar financial systems) and Microsoft Excel for financial modeling, variance analysis, and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with BI tools (such as Power BI or Tableau) for data consolidation, dashboarding, and analytics.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, P&L drivers, contract economics, business-case modeling, and the linkage between operational activity and financial results.
  • Ability to investigate complex financial issues, reach supportable conclusions, and provide clear recommendations to leadership.
  • Advanced Excel skills for data modeling, pivot tables, and variance analysis.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills, including the ability to prioritize competing demands and communicate complex financial data for executive and board-level audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, MS in Finance, or MS in Business Analytics) or active pursuit of professional accounting/finance credentials.
  • Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, PBM/payer environments, 340B Drug Pricing Program, or other regulated healthcare service settings.
  • Direct experience working with federal 340B grantees (Ryan White programs, FQHCs, STD/STI clinics) or non-profit healthcare entities serving diverse communities.
  • Demonstrated track record leading cross-functional strategic projects, process improvements, or contract economics analyses.
  • Advanced skills in SQL, Power Query, or automated data pipeline development linking operational platforms with QuickBooks and BI suites.
  • Direct experience serving HIV-focused, public health, or LGBTQ+ non-profit healthcare entities, with a demonstrated commitment to developing cultural competencies and knowledge of LGBTQ+ health terminology.

  • Advanced capability leveraging QuickBooks and Power BI to consolidate datasets, build dashboards, and support decision analysis and executive reporting.
  • Strong ability to analyze P&L statements, identify core cost drivers, conduct root-cause variance analyses, and evaluate contract economics.
  • Capacity to structure ambiguous requests into actionable analytical frameworks that deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex financial insights to executive leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships across teams, executive leadership, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience serving HIV-focused, public health, or LGBTQ+ non-profit organizations, with demonstrated commitment to foundational knowledge of LGBTQ+ health terminology and cultural competencies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving, inclusive healthcare environment serving diverse, multi-cultural patient and community populations.

Physical Requirements

  • May require travel for events or company priorities.
