Sr. Financial Analyst - Commercial Finance

The Sr. Financial Analyst - Commercial at UHY LLP supports commercial finance activities within a global manufacturing organization, partnering with cross-functional teams to drive pricing, profitability analysis, and data-driven decision making. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with the potential to scale processes.

Location and Work Arrangement

Farmington Hills, Michigan, with a hybrid work setup.

Compensation

Salary range: USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year.

Role Responsibilities

• Help establish scalable commercial finance processes and systems to support business growth.
• Serve as a financial advisor to commercial and operational leadership teams.
• Collaborate across functions with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Plant Controllers, and Accounting to align financial objectives.
• Challenge assumptions and offer recommendations focused on profitability and long-term value.
• Assist with customer pricing and quoting by developing pricing models and templates.
• Conduct cost-to-produce analyses and comprehensive profitability modeling.
• Perform market analysis and develop next-best-alternative scenarios.
• Engage in scenario modeling and sensitivity analyses.
• Review, validate, and track pricing changes and approvals.
• Prepare quotes and deliverables within required timelines.
• Support win/loss analysis and capture key commercial insights.
• Analyze profitability by customer, product, and segment to identify margin improvement opportunities.
• Evaluate raw material exposure and cost impacts on profitability.
• Assess monthly and year-to-date performance against budget and prior year.
• Support the development of financial models, profitability databases, and Power BI dashboards.
• Assist with development and enhancement of CRM tools such as Salesforce.
• Support capital and business case development, including Commercial and special project CERs.
• Build financial models to evaluate project returns, risks, and strategic alignment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting pricing, quoting, or commercial finance activities is preferred.
• Experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools, with Power BI preferred.
• Strong communication abilities and the capacity to partner cross-functionally.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
