Universal Banker - Sitka Financial Center, Part Time 20hrs/wk

Join Northrim Bank in Sitka, AK as a Part-Time Universal Banker working 20 hours per week at the Sitka Financial Center. This retail banking role supports customers with everyday transactions and service, while helping them connect with the right products and services. Levels range from UB I through UB III, with added leadership expectations at the highest tier.

Role Overview

As a Universal Banker, you serve as the customer-facing point of contact while processing banking activity and contributing to a positive teller and customer experience. The position includes assisting with routine account needs, supporting deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments, and using ongoing training to stay current on regulations and new systems. Universal Banker III also takes on added responsibility when management is away and may mentor teammates.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, handle transactions, and create a better day-to-day banking experience.
• Support a range of requests, including deposits, withdrawals, account management, and loan payments.
• Build customer understanding to help them plan, save, and work toward financial success.
• Recommend products and services that make a measurable difference for customers.
• Learn new systems, keep up with regulations, and develop skills through ongoing training.
• For UB III: step in when management is away, mentor new teammates, and help ensure smooth branch operations.

Requirements

• Universal Banker I: 6+ months in cash-handling, retail, or hospitality.
• Universal Banker II: 1+ year in banking OR 2+ years in customer service/cash-handling.
• Universal Banker II: a degree in a related field can replace experience.
• Universal Banker III: 3+ years of banking experience.
• Universal Banker III: leadership and mentoring experience preferred.
• Universal Banker III: able to run the branch in a pinch.
• Strong communication and people skills.
• Detail-driven, highly organized, and effective under pressure.
• Tech-savvy with MS Office and banking software.
• Team player who is a self-starter and a fast learner.

Pay

Pay depends on experience. The minimum for Universal Banker I is $22.00 per hour.
