Job Description

Situated across Boothbay Region YMCA and Central Lincoln County YMCA, the Finance Associate role focuses on accounts payable along with related administrative tasks and IT security duties in Damariscotta, Maine. This part-time position supports timely bill payments, strengthens internal controls, and helps safeguard our community organizations as they deliver health, youth development, and social responsibility programs.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with the Department Director to promote healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development across the organization.
Oversees the Central Lincoln County YMCA's accounts payable process in partnership with the Department Director, ensuring strong internal controls aligned with policies and procedures.
Interfaces with the CEO, other Directors, and vendors to ensure timely and accurate payment of bills.
Manages weekly deposits and addresses financial inquiries as they arise.
Supports Directors and staff with accounts payable, vendor management, and cybersecurity initiatives, including related projects and strategic endeavors.
Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, reduce operational risk, and increase transparency in AP and vendor management.
Assists the Finance Director with administering the YMCA cyber defense program, including closing control gaps, coordinating with the technology consultant, administering the password manager software, and training staff on software.
Provides administrative support to the Department Director and colleagues, including filing and process automation as needed.
Builds authentic relationships with staff, participants, and community partners, connecting them to YMCA programs.
As a Mandated Reporter, recognizes signs of abuse or neglect and reports to the supervisor and appropriate authorities.
Performs additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Requirements

Regular physical activity is required, including standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, occasional running, pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
3-5 years of experience in a related field.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work with staff and the public in a positive, friendly manner and resolve conflicts as needed.
Self-starter capable of multi-tasking, working independently, and adapting to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.
Solid general computer skills with the ability to learn and use new software effectively.
Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record; access to a personal vehicle preferred.
