Finance Associate Rotational Development Program
Job Description
Finance Associate Rotational Development Program is a 24-month, rotational experience for recent graduates with structured rotation assignments and a strategic group project across PG&E finance and accounting functions.
Responsibilities
- Support forecasts, rate base projections, and enterprise planning cycles; contribute to investor and regulatory communications.
- Assist with monthly close activities, reconciliations, tax filings, and treasury operations to support financial accuracy and compliance.
- Evaluate financial and operational risks through audits, SOX compliance, insurance oversight, and third-party risk management.
- Improve efficiency by creating workflow documentation, leveraging automation tools, Copilot, and visual dashboards using Lean principles.
- Build cross-functional partnerships, present insights to senior leaders, and contribute to strategic technology, transformation, and regulatory initiatives.
Program Structure
- 24-month experience consisting of four structured 6-month rotations.
- Includes a strategic group project across PG&E’s finance and accounting functions.
- Rotations provide exposure to financial planning, accounting, strategy, risk, audit, and treasury.
- Associates collaborate cross-functionally and present to senior leaders.
Requirements
- Earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance Business Administration, Economics, Applied Math, Statistics, or a related discipline from May 2026 to June 2027.
- At least 1 year of job-related experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Intention to seek a C.P.A. license.
- Knowledge of SAP R3.
- Demonstrated experience using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated knowledge of, or interest in, the utility industry.
- Demonstrated experience working with people at multiple organizational levels, including peers, managers, and directors.
- Sound understanding of accrual accounting and GAAP.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in the energy/utilities field (for example: student clubs, projects, courses, work).
- Associates must formally apply for a full-time position within PG&E before completing the program.
