Finance/Budget Associate
Job Description
This Finance/Budget Associate position supports the financial operations of clinical trials, with a focus on site study budgets, sponsor contract negotiations, and ongoing performance tracking to support accurate invoicing and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze complex CNS clinical trial protocols to develop detailed site budgets, including procedural costs, investigator fees, patient stipends, and administrative overhead.
- Manage negotiations with pharmaceutical sponsors and CROs to secure equitable, profitable Clinical Trial Agreement (CTA) budget terms.
- Monitor study milestones, patient visit completion, and pass-through costs to support correct sponsor invoicing, accounts receivable, and site revenue forecasting.
- Produce monthly financial reports that assess trial profitability, compare site budget against actual performance, and generate cash flow projections for executive leadership.
- Collaborate with Principal Investigators, Study Coordinators, and Business Development to align financial terms with operational capacity and patient recruitment needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in financial analysis, healthcare accounting, or site-level trial budgeting within a Clinical Research Center/Network, CRO, or hospital environment.
- Working knowledge of Clinical Trial Agreements (CTAs), CPT coding, Medicare coverage analysis, and GCP/ICH financial compliance guidelines.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including financial modeling, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables.
- Experience using clinical trial management software (CTMS) or ERP systems.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills, effective negotiation capability, and the ability to clearly present financial metrics to clinical leadership.

Compensation and Location
Salary: USD 85,000 - 100,000 per year.
Location: Orange, CA (hybrid).
