Job Description
Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Finance Manager to support its Print on Demand books business, acting as a strategic finance partner to shape the POD fulfillment roadmap and cross-functional initiatives on a global scale. This onsite role in Charleston, SC offers a salary range of USD 85,900 to 146,900 per year and requires a bachelor's degree with at least five years of relevant experience. The position centers on guiding financial strategy, partnering with product and operations teams, and ensuring solid controllership for the POD segment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary strategic finance partner to the worldwide product team, collaborating on business cases for new fulfillment initiatives for POD books; help shape strategic vision, provide necessary financial analyses, and influence metrics to keep the business accountable to its goals.
- Collaborate with local operations finance teams and central Amazon finance to fully understand the economics of fulfilling books through various channels.
- Think strategically about the future of indie and traditional publishing and identify ways Amazon can enhance its offerings to best serve authors and readers globally.
- Oversee monthly controllership and financial reporting mechanisms for aspects of the POD business.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field
- Proficiency in Excel (macros, index, conditional lists, arrays, pivots, lookups) or demonstrated ability to solve complex business challenges with financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns to support business strategy
- 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field

Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying root causes, and creating or implementing an escalation plan
- Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
