Finance Officer

Based in Wardensville, WV, Highlands Bankshares, Inc. invites you to join us as a Finance Officer. This onsite, full-time role supports general accounting, financial reporting, audit coordination, tax support, and regulatory reporting for Highlands Bankshares and HBI Life Insurance Company. Responsibilities

• Manage comprehensive general accounting duties for Highlands Bankshares, Inc. and HBI Life Insurance Company, including journal entries, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
• Prepare the Annual Report and Federal Reserve Call Reports, perform quarterly holding company adjusting and eliminating entries, and assist with year-end closing.
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
• Assist the tax function with tax computations and provide tax schedules as requested.
• Prepare and file all required regulatory reports with the Federal Reserve, WV Division of Banking, WV Secretary of State, and other entities for the holding company, along with other duties as assigned by the board, audit committee, Holding Company President or bank CEO.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred or equivalent
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Knowledge of local, state and federal laws regarding accounting, finances and taxation
