Job Description
The Finance Software Engineer role at Apple focuses on building and operating full-stack web applications and automation solutions that support Apple’s global Finance organization. The position emphasizes end-to-end delivery, from requirement analysis through SDLC-aligned testing, deployment, and ongoing support, with adherence to SOX, InfoSec, and privacy controls.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders, analysts, and engineers to conceptualize, design, develop, document, test, and upgrade web applications and their components
- Develop efficient code and deliver full-stack applications based on requirements
- Test and deploy applications in alignment with Apple’s SDLC
- Triage issues, debug, and maintain existing applications while continuously improving them
- Create technical documentation to support application operations and future development
- Enhance existing applications in response to business requirements
- Implement and maintain compliance with InfoSec, Privacy, and SOX guidelines
- Collaborate with other engineers to define and adopt software development best practices
- Work with DevOps to evaluate emerging technologies and support adoption of new capabilities and techniques
Requirements
- Undergraduate or Masters degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline
- 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience
- Strong experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting applications and automation solutions, ideally in a highly agile environment
- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Software Quality Control in an Agile environment
- Demonstrated proficiency with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP and alternatives) and JavaScript libraries including React and VueJS
- Experience with object-oriented programming using Python, plus SQL for analyzing and operating on very large data sets
- Experience with APIs and microservices such as GraphQL and REST
- Experience with relational databases including MySQL and Postgres
- Comfort with Unix shell scripting and Git for code management

- Salary: USD 150,400 - 225,300 per year
