Job Description
Financial Analyst position located onsite in Birmingham, AL, within HUD's Office of Public and Indian Housing (PIH) under the Assistant Secretary for Public and Indian Housing.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed technical reviews and analyses of financial data reported on budgets, requisitions, year-end settlements, financial statements, and voucher assistance payments.
- Propose innovative solutions to complex financial problems and actively participate in implementing changes to address identified issues.
- Initiate and contribute to complex, team-based assignments addressing cross cutting financial management issues.
- Serve as an advisor and subject matter expert on financial matters related to the Section 8 programs.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to Field Offices, Headquarters, REAC, and others on financial management issues within the Section 8 programs.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizen or U.S. National required.
- One year probationary period may be required; continued employment contingent on supervisory certification that continued employment benefits the Federal Service, with certification no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary period.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- Public Trust background investigation will be required.
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine suitability when requested by the agency.
- Salary payments by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer to a financial institution of choice.
- Male applicants born after 12/31/1959 must certify Selective Service registration or exemption.
- Complete a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process requiring two forms of identification from Form I-9.
- Obtain and use a government-issued charge card for business-related travel.
