Job Description
UnityPoint Health is seeking a Financial Analyst to serve as a trusted finance partner, helping teams translate operational needs into reliable budget and forecast outcomes. This onsite role in Fort Dodge, IA focuses on planning leadership, scenario modeling, and ongoing support for cost accounting approaches used for decision-making.
Working in a Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the analyst will coordinate budgeting and forecasting activities across the organization and subsidiaries, while ensuring planning tools and assumptions stay accurate and aligned.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead preparation of annual operating and capital budgets for the organization and subsidiaries, including development of revenue, reimbursement, and expense assumptions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for departmental management during the budget process and lead budget education sessions with managers and directors.
- Prepare quarterly rolling forecasts and the long-range financial plan, including assumption development and scenario modeling to project multi-year performance.
- Ensure consistency by aligning common assumptions and intercompany revenues and expenses across entities.
- Administer, implement, test, and maintain financial planning tools and systems, including maintaining subsidiary budget systems.
- Monitor and update cost accounting and related methodologies to support accurate budgeting and decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is required.
- Master’s degree (MBA, Finance, Accounting, or Healthcare Administration) is preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or a similar role with complex analytical assignments and financial analysis is required.
- 1–3 years of experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, using spreadsheets, manipulating data, and querying databases is required.
