Job Description

The Vermont Agency is seeking an entry-level Financial Consultant to join our onsite team in Albany, NY. This role centers on wealth management, client profiling, and creating tailored financial plans. You will develop strong communication and analytical skills through ongoing training and hands-on client work, with a clear path to growth in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic product, plan, and investment recommendations and financial guidance to help clients reach their financial goals
  • Collaborate directly with clients to build financial profiles, delivering sound advice based on each person’s financial status, income, goals, and wealth-management needs
  • Identify and cultivate new client relationships by serving as a trusted financial advisor
  • Customize financial plans for each client according to professional circumstances, life stage, and evolving needs
  • Contribute as a structured yet coachable team member, open to ongoing education and training from colleagues

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of the role of a financial advisor or financial consultant, with interest in the financial industry and products
  • Basic knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office, financial planning software, Google Suite, CRM systems, and related tools
  • Superior communication, relationship-building, and math skills to deliver strong client service
  • Willingness to study for and obtain a Life Insurance license
  • Optional but valued: FINRA Series 7 along with 63/66 licenses
