Job Description
OLIO Financial Planning invites you to join a relationship oriented, growth minded environment that blends technical financial planning with meaningful client service. This hybrid role is based in Blacksburg, VA, with remote consideration and regular quarterly travel to Blacksburg as needed. The salary range is USD 85,000 – 120,000 per year, supported by a comprehensive benefits package designed to empower you and your clients.
Responsibilities
- Begin by learning how we serve clients, our planning philosophy, client service model, technology stack, and processes alongside experienced planners.
- Increase responsibility in both financial planning and client relationship management as your knowledge grows.
- Learn OLIO's approach to comprehensive financial planning and client service.
- Prepare meeting agendas, reports, and planning analyses.
- Build and maintain financial plans in RightCapital.
- Run tax analyses and projections in Holistiplan.
- Participate in client meetings alongside senior planners.
- Collaborate with advisors and the client success team to ensure recommendations are implemented.
- Identify planning opportunities and contribute ideas to client discussions.
- Develop expertise across retirement, tax, investments, insurance, estate planning, and cash flow planning.
- Take ownership of portions of client relationships and lead sections of client meetings.
- Present planning recommendations and strategies to clients.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients.
- Develop expertise in areas of personal interest within financial planning.
- Mentor newer team members and contribute to firm initiatives.
- Progress toward leading client relationships independently.
- Support the team as needed in our small-company environment.
Requirements
- CFP® professional in good standing.
- Minimum of 3 years of financial planning experience.
- Experience participating in and leading client meetings.
- Experience developing and presenting financial planning recommendations.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with financial planning software such as RightCapital, eMoney, MoneyGuide, Holistiplan, Tamarac, Wealthbox, or similar platforms.
- A genuine passion for helping clients make smart decisions and take action on their financial plans.
