Job Description
The entry level financial planner role at NYL - Melville invites you to begin a career in wealth management, working directly with clients to shape their financial futures from an onsite office in Melville, New York. This position emphasizes clear communication, strong numerical and analytical skills, and a coachable mindset as you grow within a leading financial services organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic recommendations on products, plans, and investments along with financial guidance to help clients reach their monetary goals.
- Collect and evaluate each client’s financial information to determine financial status, cash flow, expectations, goals, retirement plans, and other wealth-management factors.
- Consider life stage, career circumstances, and evolving financial needs when crafting tailored financial plans.
- Maintain a coachable, organized approach as a collaborative team member, actively pursuing training and development opportunities.
- Identify and pursue new clients to serve as a trusted advisor for significant financial decisions.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of financial products, the financial services industry, and the responsibilities of personal financial advisors or financial planners.
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related analytical field.
- Proven ability to network and prospect for new clients.
- Residence in or near Long Island, Brooklyn, or Queens.
