Job Description

New York Life offers an Accelerated Path to Management Program designed for financial professionals who want to build client relationships, complete structured training, and transition into a management role. The program combines an initial intensive training period with Associate Partner training focused on recruiting and coaching.

Program Overview: Accelerated Path to Management

The Accelerated Path to Management Program starts with you working as a financial professional. You receive training and access to tools, and then transition into a management role after meeting specific requirements. The program includes a six-month intensive training program intended to prepare you for success as a manager, along with Associate Partner training that focuses on recruiting and coaching others.

Core Responsibilities

  • Learn how to sell products, build client relationships, and meet specific requirements prior to transitioning into management.
  • Complete a six-month intensive training program designed to prepare you for a managerial role.
  • Develop an understanding of how to recruit and coach others to success.
  • During Associate Partner training, help lead and build your team of financial professionals.
  • Continue to pursue opportunities to grow and be promoted into increasingly senior management levels.

Requirements

  • Sales or managerial experience in another industry: answer yes
  • Previously ran your own business: answer yes
  • MBA or other equivalent degree: answer yes
  • Meet specific production and licensing requirements and obtain approvals before transitioning to field management.
  • Hold securities licenses and maintain FINRA registrations, and affiliate with NYLIFE Securities as a registered representative before offering investment products.
  • Master’s (Preferred)
  • Sales: 3 years (Preferred)

Compensation Details

  • When you begin as a financial professional, income is commission-based.
  • After meeting requirements and approvals to become an Associate Partner, you will receive a salary.
  • Associate Partner salary range: $60,000–$150,000. In California: $62,400–$150,000.
  • Eligible for additional compensation tied to agents you recruit and develop (referred to as “R&Ds”), including reimbursement for any reasonable and necessary expenses not otherwise reimbursed.
  • Field managers’ compensation is aligned with recruiting performance and the production level of their team of financial professionals.

First-Year Structure and Transition to Management

  • Your first year is focused on working as a financial professional.
  • After meeting specific requirements for the first 12 months, you enter a specialized six-month Associate Partner training program.
  • Through Associate Partner training, you support leading and building your team of financial professionals.

Product Solutions

  • Learn about insurance and financial products that support clients and their families in working toward financial goals.
  • Competitive product offerings include life insurance, annuities, long-term care insurance, disability income insurance, and investment products such as mutual funds through NYLIFE Securities LLC (member of FINRA and SIPC), a licensed insurance agency.
