Financial Services Cybersecurity Senior Consultant

Crowe is seeking a Financial Services Cybersecurity Senior Consultant for an onsite role in Indianapolis, IN, to assess security posture, design security programs, evaluate IT controls, and guide responsible AI integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support cybersecurity risk assessments, IT internal audits, and regulatory readiness efforts for frameworks and requirements (HIPAA, GDPR, CMMC, and similar standards).
• Evaluate and test IT controls, application controls, security configurations, and interface/integration security to ensure robust protection.
• Provide guidance on security architecture, identity and access management (IAM), data protection, and cloud security across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Assess and advise on emerging technologies, including AI and ML use in business processes, with a focus on responsible and secure deployment.
• Conduct assessments centered on business resiliency and incident response readiness to help organizations mature their programs.
• Assist clients in aligning cybersecurity programs with leading frameworks such as NIST CSF, NIST 800.53, CIS, and integrated control frameworks.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including C-suite and board-level leadership, with clear written and verbal communication.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to client security and risk functions, helping to build, enhance, and operationalize cybersecurity programs across governance, risk, and compliance and business resiliency domains.
• Act as an extension of client teams to lead or support program execution activities, including control implementation, metrics and reporting, issue remediation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and supervise junior consultants, contributing to team development and internal knowledge sharing.
• Participate in practice development activities, including service innovation and thought leadership initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT audit, risk advisory, or related consulting or industry roles.
• Working knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux/Unix) and databases (SQL, Oracle, etc.).
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and cybersecurity frameworks.
