Financial Services Cybersecurity Senior Consultant

The onsite Miami, FL based Financial Services Cybersecurity Senior Consultant helps clients manage risk, test IT controls, design security programs, and align cybersecurity with leading frameworks across major cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Conduct or assist with cybersecurity risk assessments, internal IT audits, and regulatory readiness initiatives for frameworks such as HIPAA, GDPR, and CMMC.
• Assess and validate IT controls, application controls, security configurations, and interface protection across systems.
• Advise on security architecture, identity and access management, data protection, and cloud security across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Evaluate emerging technologies including AI and ML used in business processes, emphasizing responsible and secure deployment.
• Perform business resiliency and incident response assessments to help clients mature their resilience capabilities.
• Guide clients in aligning cybersecurity programs with leading frameworks (NIST CSF, NIST 800.53, CIS and related control frameworks).
• Present findings and recommendations to executives and board level stakeholders with clear written and verbal communication.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to client security and risk teams, helping build and operationalize cybersecurity programs across governance, risk and compliance and business resiliency.
• Embed with client teams to lead or support program execution, including control implementation, metrics and reporting, remediation, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to practice development through service innovation and thought leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, cybersecurity, engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience in cybersecurity, IT audit, risk advisory, or related consulting or industry roles.
• Solid working knowledge of Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems and databases such as SQL and Oracle.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and cybersecurity frameworks.
