Financial Specialist

BalancedCare Community Services Inc is seeking a full-time Financial Specialist in Essex Junction, VT onsite. This role provides direct service to Rep Payee clients, manages client funds, and oversees the office while coordinating with outside agencies. The position supports budgeting for Veterans and individuals with disabilities, VA accountings, and collecting documents for field audits when requested. Compensation ranges from USD 21 to 23 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry to initiate payments on clients' financial obligations
• Sort and process incoming mail
• Respond to inquiries from clients and case workers
• Process referrals by telephone
• Interview potential clients and assist with preparing a proposed budget
• Other duties as assigned by the program director

Requirements

• Effective communication with clients, staff, and the community
• Customer-service oriented with a friendly, helpful demeanor
• Minimum 1 year of direct customer service experience (1-3 years preferred)
• Hands-on experience with case management, funds management, budgeting and/or forecasting
• Proficiency in data entry and using computer systems
• Background in social work is preferred
• Experience working with diverse populations
• Knowledge of Social Security policies and procedures
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly
• Experience with government contracts is a plus
