Investment Banking Analyst – Corporate Finance Advisory (2027)
Job Description
Scotiabank’s Corporate Finance Advisory team is hiring a 2027 Investment Banking Analyst in New York City. This onsite opportunity blends rigorous, data-driven analysis with client-facing support across capital raising, M&A, and shareholder strategy. Front Office Analysts also get access to structured learning and development, including Capital Ideas, the Global Banking and Markets Learning Program, interactive sessions with experienced professionals, and a Mentorship program designed to support professional and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Assess corporate clients’ strategic and financial needs and shape tailored solutions
- Combine company, industry, and market data to generate differentiated ideas and uncover new business opportunities
- Use both equity and credit viewpoints to provide balanced recommendations and support due diligence
- Produce consistent, high-quality work with strong attention to detail
- Build long-term client relationships and collaborate across stakeholders across the banking and capital markets platform
- Support deal sourcing and execution with fundamental analysis, capital markets insights, scenario modeling, and client-ready presentation materials
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in a Business, Finance, Science, Technology, Engineering, Economics, or Mathematics discipline (or related fields), to be completed between December 2026 and July 2027
- Demonstrated interest and knowledge of the financial markets
- Proven record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once while maintaining high standards
- Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working in a collaborative environment
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with expertise in Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong quantitative skills focused on financial analysis, accounting, and financial theory
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
