Job Description
The Merrill Advisor Development Program in Frisco, TX offers an on-site pathway to becoming a Financial Advisor within Merrill Wealth Management. The program combines extensive training and coaching with practical client-focused work, helping you build a personal book of business, develop relationships with high-net-worth clients, and collaborate with Merrill teams to deliver comprehensive financial solutions.

Responsibilities
- Develop a book of business aimed at meeting and exceeding performance targets.
- Prioritize sourcing prospective clients, leverage referrals, assess client needs, refer to internal specialists, and implement customized solutions.
- Recommend investment products and services aligned with prospects' objectives, resources, time horizon, risk profile, and preferences.
- Balance investment growth, referrals, client follow-up, prospecting, compliance, and personal development through daily and ongoing planning.
- Organize and manage resources such as time, people, and budget to run an effective practice.
- Engage specialists when appropriate to identify planning and investment strategies for clients.
- Complete required training, assessments, performance goals, and continuing education obligations.
- Manage inbound inquiries from leads about Merrill offerings.
- Communicate the capabilities of Merrill and Bank of America to clients and prospects.
- Collect necessary client profile data and follow standard KYC procedures to open accounts as appropriate.
- Serve as an interim Financial Advisor, recommending suitable investment products and services based on client objectives, resources, time horizon, risk profile, and preferences, while servicing client accounts.
- Document all client interactions and opportunities in Salesforce accurately.
Requirements
- Current Series 7 and 66 licenses (63 and 65 in lieu of 66 accepted).
- Bachelor’s degree required; minimum one year of experience in financial services or a sales environment with performance results.
- Minimum one year of experience in the investments industry, including investment training and knowledge of investment products and services.
- Proven ability to engage with and influence others.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication; ability to quickly establish trust and credibility.
- Proven ability to assess needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Collaborative team player with experience working with key partners.
- Active listening and probing skills to gain clarity and understanding.
- Goal-oriented with a results mindset.
- Entrepreneurial outlook with demonstrated ability to source clients through prospecting and networking.
- Comfort working in an environment where compensation is largely performance-based.
- Strong follow-through skills.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
