Responsibilities
- Obtain Securities Industry licenses (SIE, Series 7, Series 66) with dedicated study time.
- Develop foundational advisory capabilities, including acquiring, building and managing client relationships and considering a client’s complex financial picture to guide them with advice and solutions.
- Begin working in a financial center to deliver Bank of America’s core banking, investment solutions and client care.
- Progress through ADP milestones toward a Merrill Financial Advisor, building a portfolio of affluent and high net worth clients.

Role Progression
As an Advisor Development Program Financial Solutions Advisor Stage I, the first objective is licensure with dedicated study for the SIE, Series 7 and Series 66. After licensure, the focus shifts to core advisory skills and beginning client engagement in a financial center, delivering Bank of America’s banking, investment solutions and client care. Upon achieving key milestones, you typically advance to the Merrill Financial Advisor Development Program - Financial Advisor (ADP FA) stage, transitioning to a local Merrill Wealth Management office and starting to build a portfolio of affluent and high net worth clients. Continued success in ADP FA aims toward becoming a core Merrill Financial Advisor, with ongoing support from the Academy through dedicated programs, tools and resources.
