Job Description
Abbott Laboratories seeks a Principal Financial Analyst for Global Development Finance in Santa Clara, CA to lead FP&A across Product Development, Analytical Chemistry, and pipeline analysis.
Responsibilities
- Support Franchise Product Development with strategic planning and forecasting of the product pipeline
- Coordinate the Franchise quarterly LBE process with R&D teams
- Deliver program headcount allocation and cost analyses to inform portfolio prioritization decisions
- Manage the franchise cost center month end close, ensuring compliance with corporate and divisional policies
- Assemble monthly close package detailing spending performance, variances, and driving factors
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to evaluate new business opportunities and products by building financial models and conducting NPV/IRR and sensitivity analyses
- Lead headcount allocation for Product Development, Quality, Operations, and Regulatory groups to support program costing
- Own the franchise headcount roll forward, comparing actual headcount to the LBE year-end budget
- Design, develop, and publish financial dashboards to monitor program performance, productivity metrics, and KPIs
- Proactively identify non-routine process improvements and drive implementation across the team
- Mentor junior staff, provide guidance, and participate in project leadership as needed, including setting goals and objectives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, or six years of relevant combined experience
- Eight or more years in financial planning and analysis, or equivalent planning and quantitative analysis experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel and enterprise system proficiency
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards
- Experience in a highly matrixed, geographically diverse organization
- Proven ability to lead projects, influence stakeholders, and drive results in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging across multiple levels of the organization
