Job Description
The Private Credit Finance Associate role is based in New York, NY and performed onsite. This position supports the MSPC Finance team in negotiating, structuring, executing, and managing fund level financing solutions for Direct Lending funds and BDCs, collaborating with the CFO and Head of Capital Markets on instruments such as subscription lines, revolvers, asset based facilities, securitizations, and bonds.

Salary: USD 90,000 - 120,000 per year
Responsibilities
- Prepare internal documentation and presentations, including board approval materials for new and amended transactions.
- Develop and maintain borrowing base calculations along with other monthly and quarterly lender reporting requirements (waterfalls, borrowing bases, compliance certificates), ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Coordinate and assist in the review of monthly close packages provided by third party administrators.
- Conduct detailed reviews of monthly and quarterly valuation models and inputs.
- Research accounting issues and prepare technical accounting policy documents.
- Manage and review administrator deliverables to ensure accurate activity processing, timely receipt of deliverables, NAV reporting, financial statements, and investor notices.
- Coordinate asset level approvals with MSPC’s asset-based lenders prior to placing assets into SPV financing vehicles.
- Liaise with MSPC deal teams to address follow-up questions or data requests from lenders.
- Explain the accounting implications of new or amended financing arrangements on fund performance to the MSPC finance team.
- Collaborate with third party administrators, collateral agents, and custodians to review monthly and quarterly waterfall, borrowing bases, and related items.
- Engage with the liability management team, fund lenders, and auditors on Agreed Upon Procedure audits.
- Coordinate with fund operations to align timing and availability of fund borrowings and repayments.
- Coordinate with rating agencies to obtain issuer ratings or credit estimates for portfolios.
- Review the tie-out of quarterly and annual financial statements and assist in implementing new accounting requirements with auditors and administrators.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree; preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- 1-3 years of experience in the financial industry, ideally within credit funds or at a lender providing asset-level financing to a credit fund.
- Big 4 accounting firm background is a plus.
- Private Credit Funds experience is a plus.
- Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in MS Excel; solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong academic record with prior experience in analytical and collaborative environments.
- Ability to work independently with effective time management skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem solving abilities.
- High level of accountability and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
