Senior Financial Analyst
Job Description
Aqua Utilities Florida Inc is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to strengthen its finance team in Sarasota, FL (onsite). In this role, you will support strategic planning and reporting by building financial projections, analyzing performance, and helping maintain strong governance over financial data.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial projection models to support strategic planning and business decision-making.
- Prepare, interpret, and analyze financial statements in line with IFRS and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Perform variance analysis to surface trends, discrepancies, and potential opportunities to improve cost efficiency or revenue performance.
- Drive SOX compliance by implementing internal controls and supporting accurate financial reporting.
- Support corporate accounting activities, including month-end close, profit and loss analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Partner with business units on financial sales strategies, pricing models, and investment evaluations to support profitability.
- Use business intelligence tools and financial reporting software to produce reporting that informs executive decisions.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other financial planning activities aligned to organizational goals.
- Conduct technical accounting research related to IFRS standards to help ensure consistent adherence across financial practices.
- Complete detailed account analysis, cost accounting assessments, and data analysis to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of IFRS, corporate accounting principles, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Extensive experience developing financial models, including forecasting analysis and business intelligence tools.
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and the preparation of financial report writing and variance analysis reporting.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance procedures and internal control frameworks.
- Experience with financial software systems, including ERP platforms and specialized financial reporting tools.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, including under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated analytical ability in quantitative analysis, data-driven decision-making, and strategic planning.
- Clear communication skills to present financial concepts and reporting to varied audiences.
- Familiarity with public accounting practices, technical accounting standards, and finance industry best practices.
