Job Description

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst specializing in cost accounting to support its Neuromodulation Operations in Plano, Texas. In this role you will own standard costing, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold, delivering clear cost visibility and performance insights to site leadership and cross-functional partners. The position offers a salary range of USD 78,000 to 156,000 per year and requires a bachelor’s degree with at least four years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own cost accounting activities including standard costing, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold
  • Analyze and explain manufacturing variances (PPV, labor, overhead, yield, absorption) and operational drivers to drive cost transparency and improve operational performance
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and site leadership to monitor and improve cost performance
  • Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis
  • Forecasting and planning cycles (LBE) with a focus on cost and operational assumptions
  • Prepare consolidated reporting, dashboards, and presentations for leadership
  • Provide insights and analysis to support business and operational decisions
  • Build financial models to support cost improvements, productivity initiatives, and capital investments
  • Work with business partners to develop clear financial commentary tied to operational results
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls, inventory processes, and company policies
  • Maintain effective collaboration with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field or demonstrated equivalent experience in cost accounting or manufacturing finance
  • 4+ years of experience in cost accounting and/or manufacturing finance
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory, and operational finance concepts
  • Experience with financial close, variance analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and financial systems
  • Experience working in a matrixed and cross-functional environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at multiple levels of the organization
  • Ability to analyze complex data and translate insights into actionable recommendations
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities

The Opportunity

This position is based in Plano, TX within Abbott’s Neuromodulation division. The business includes implantable devices that are compatible with mobile technology to assist individuals with chronic pain and movement disorders. These non-opioid therapies enable interventional pain treatment across the pain spectrum.
