Job Description
MaxLinear, Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst I for Sales Operations to support its global sales organization from an onsite position in Irvine, California. This role concentrates on forecasting, channel operations, and analytics, with accountability for revenue forecast consensus, reporting, and channel programs that drive growth across the business.
Responsibilities
- Own critical forecasting, channel operations, and sales analytics processes
- Conduct monthly forecasting for all regions, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement
- Lead revenue forecast consensus meetings, including preparation and presentation of variance analyses
- Ensure forecasts align with customer orders and respond to supply chain constraints effectively
- Support corporate forecasting to improve alignment and communication
- Perform revenue, sell-through, and forecast accuracy analyses
- Support Adexa demand planning maintenance, enhancements, and defect resolution
- Analyze distributor data and develop reports/dashboards for margin, inventory turns, bookings, billings, backlog, and POS data
- Standardize quarterly business reviews (QBRs), track partner progress, and consolidate results
- Support broad market forecasting to ensure regional teams drive bookings to forecast
- Develop reporting to measure channel forecast accuracy and drive improvements
- Support channel promotions and partner programs to advance growth initiatives
- Identify gaps in the samples process and coordinate improvements
- Administer third-party manufacturer representative commission programs, preparing monthly calculations and forecasts to ensure timely payments
- Conduct commission variance analyses to identify drivers of payment changes and support audits
- Maintain commission input files feeding the Alteryx model, ensuring accuracy and integrity
- Develop, maintain, and deliver training for channel partners and internal stakeholders
- Optimize customer support routing for RFQs and product inquiries
Requirements
- Analytical, process-driven, and adept at cross-functional collaboration
- Experience with revenue forecasting and management
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong data management capabilities, and a drive to improve processes
- Proficiency in financial reporting or business intelligence tools
- Strong modeling skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills (including vlookup, pivots, sumifs, macros)
- Ability to work with and understand the needs of multiple stakeholders
- Capacity to operate in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
- Experience with Adexa, Hyperion planning, E2Open or other demand planning systems is a plus
- Bachelor's degree with six or more years of experience, or a Master's degree with three or more years of experience
