Job Description

Join Guidehouse Inc. as a Senior Financial Management Data Engineer supporting financial management and IT programs for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This onsite role in Washington, DC combines data engineering, governance, and analytics to help improve decision-making across financial and operational systems. Salary: USD 113,000 to 188,000 per year. Travel: None.

What you will do

  • Access data sources, establish data connections, and develop ingestion and integration solutions using APIs, databases, file-based interfaces, and enterprise platforms.
  • Aggregate, clean, and organize datasets from disparate sources, and perform quality assurance on those processes.
  • Design and implement data integration, mapping, and standardization frameworks, including configurable business rules and data crosswalks for interoperability, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Manipulate large datasets and perform data mining and structuring using open-source tools such as SQL, Python, and PySpark to identify patterns and generate new insights.
  • Build data modeling processes, create algorithms and predictive models, and conduct ad hoc or exploratory analysis, including advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and machine learning.
  • Maintain data governance and ensure data quality assurance standards are met.
  • Help define data quality metrics for the quality of data ingested into Databricks.
  • Organize and lead client meetings, including scheduling, drafting and delivering agendas and meeting minutes, archiving documentation, and tracking and following up on action items.
  • Deliver client services and also support business development, internal initiatives, and ongoing professional development.

Required qualifications

  • Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD “PUBLIC TRUST”; candidates must obtain approved adjudication prior to onboarding. Active Public Trust or Suitability is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three (3) or more years of data experience
  • Experience performing data analytics to address management and operational challenges
  • Proficiency with data analytics tools including SQL, Python, R, and Databricks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, with emphasis on MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel
  • Prior experience with statistical analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence
