Job Description

Senior Specialty Finance Advisor in JPMorganChase's Specialty Finance Business Banking provides SBA and Commercial Real Estate product expertise to BRMs to assess financing needs and close loans for businesses with $0.5 million to $20 million in revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for SBA and CRE lending to drive portfolio growth, building referral sources and co‑calling with BRMs to win clients and prospects while adhering to risk controls and delivering client satisfaction.
  • Identify client needs, craft tailored loan solutions, and collaborate with other product groups when needed.
  • Structure and price loans per bank policies and applicable regulations.
  • Assess preliminary SBA eligibility for potential borrowers.
  • Serve as the primary contact after submission through eligibility and post‑approval, including gathering essential documentation.
  • Monitor the loan pipeline through closing and booking.
  • Manage client expectations for products and overcome objections.
  • Provide high level service throughout the loan lifecycle.
  • Educate BRMs and Chase partners on SBA and CRE opportunities by sharing product details, eligibility requirements and coaching.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with SBA District Offices and Certified Development Companies.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of Chase Credit Policy and SBA Standard Operating Procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of relationship development experience in commercial or business banking.
  • Minimum of 2 years of SBA and Commercial Real Estate lending experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, marketing or related business field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of SBA products along with industry standards and rules/regulations.
  • Strong communication skills with individuals at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Proven negotiating and business credit skills.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and issues by asking targeted questions to assess current client needs and goals.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to achieve goals.
  • Results-oriented, customer-focused with a bias for action and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and internal partners and influence others without direct control.
