Fitch Ratings is seeking a Senior Analyst for the Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBS) group based in Chicago, IL (hybrid).

Analyze key credit, legal, and structural components of residential mortgage-backed transactions
Assist in the development of RMBS ratings criteria, including drafting related reports and formulating recommendations to strengthen analysis
Produce high-quality written materials for internal and external audiences (credit committees, criteria publications, special reports, and market commentary)
Communicate Fitch rating methodology and criteria to issuers and investors
Deploy and implement cash flow models and tools used in the rating process
Lead and/or support research projects
Maintain responsibility for an assigned rating relationship
Collaborate with more senior analysts on transaction analysis and ongoing RMBS work
Run computer models and perform spreadsheet analysis to evaluate credit risk and cash flow coverage for RMBS transactions
Present transaction reviews and analysis at rating committees
Build understanding of legal and accounting issues impacting a security
Contribute to research reports and press releases

Bachelor’s degree (minimum)
2–3 years of relevant experience (excluding internships)
Experience in capital markets, mortgage markets, and/or credit analysis is a plus
Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment
