Job Description

Connect financial and operational systems to deliver reliable, decision-ready data for leadership at Ironsmith Fire.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, maintain, and troubleshoot data pipelines and API integrations across ERP/accounting, job-cost systems, payroll/HRIS, CRM, and related platforms.
Develop and maintain relational database schemas, data models, and structures that enable consistent financial and operational reporting.
Transform, standardize, join, and reconcile data from multiple source systems into accurate reporting datasets.
Implement data validation, reconciliation, and quality controls; investigate root causes of discrepancies and coordinate corrections with system stakeholders.
Build, maintain, and improve dashboards, recurring reports, and self-service analytics for FP&A, Finance, and branch/division leadership.
Partner with Finance to translate chart-of-accounts, budget, and job-cost details into KPIs, management reports, and actionable insights.
Support ad hoc analysis requests such as variance analysis, reconciliations, and comparisons across branches or business units.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to prioritize reporting needs, clarify metric definitions, and deliver solutions aligned with operational requirements.
Use approved AI/LLM tools, scripting, and automation to enhance data transformation, analysis, coding, and recurring reporting workflows.
Evaluate and implement process improvements that reduce manual effort, improve data availability, and maintain appropriate review and validation of automated outputs.
Support testing and ongoing enhancement of data integrations, reporting tools, and related system implementations.
Document data flows, transformation logic, business definitions, system dependencies, and reporting procedures to keep outputs repeatable and auditable.
Coordinate with IT, Finance, and source-system owners on integration design, data access, technical requirements, and resolution of data quality issues.
Apply company requirements for information security, confidentiality, access control, and change management when handling financial, employee, and operational data.
Communicate technical findings and constraints clearly to nontechnical audiences; identify topics requiring escalation to IT management or Finance leadership.
Perform other related duties as assigned; responsibilities may evolve as systems and reporting needs grow.

5+ years of experience in data analytics, database administration/design, or a closely related field.
Advanced SQL skills and hands-on experience designing and working with relational databases.
Demonstrated experience building and maintaining API integrations and ETL/data transformation processes for software systems.
