The Principal Financial Analyst role at Medtronic centers on sophisticated financial modeling, economic research, and variance analysis to inform budgeting and forecasting. Responsibilities
- Develops and analyzes financial models and conducts economic research, evaluating metrics such as rates of return, depreciation, working capital, cash flow, investments, and costs versus budget, including variance analysis and forecasting through profit and loss or income statement review.
- Documents findings and recommendations, consolidates financial plans, and provides insights to management.
- Designs, maintains, and specifies requirements for financial information systems, addressing information flow, data volume, ad hoc reporting, and analysis needs.
- Supports business development analysis and may monitor performance by unit, division, or group.
Requirements
- Expertise in a specialty area with thorough knowledge of industry practices, typically gained through advanced education and experience; may include broad project management knowledge.
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree; for degrees earned outside the United States, the credential must meet 8 CFR 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) and be accompanied by a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
