Adjunct Instructor - Economics and Finance
Job Description
California Miramar University is recruiting a part-time Adjunct Instructor for Economics and Finance to support an active faculty pool in San Jose, CA.

- Pay: $28.00–$34.00 per hour
Responsibilities
- Teach clear, engaging, and effective Economics and Finance lectures for students with varying skill levels
- Apply innovative teaching methodologies to support student learning and academic progress
- Build an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and mathematical understanding
- Use technology and multimedia resources to enrich instruction and support interactive learning
- Deliver constructive feedback on academic performance, assignments, and problem sets aligned to learning outcomes
- Maintain regular communication with students, colleagues, and departmental leadership to support academic rigor and student success
- Attend departmental meetings, faculty development activities, and institutional initiatives to strengthen the academic community
- Complete ongoing professional development to improve teaching effectiveness and stay current with advancements in the field
Requirements
- Education: Master’s degree (MA) or higher in Economics, Finance, or a closely related field
- Strong knowledge of Economics/Finance concepts and demonstrated understanding of teaching methods and instructional practices
- Teaching experience: Previous teaching experience preferred, ideally at the college or university level
- Commitment to student-centered learning, academic excellence, and fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Familiarity with online teaching platforms and technology-enhanced learning methods is advantageous

Physical Demands / Environment
- Ability to use a computer and understand the basics of web-based learning and teaching platforms such as Zoom
- Ability to navigate and use a learning management system such as Populi
- May require evening availability to accommodate class schedules
