Adjunct Instructor - Economics and Finance

California Miramar University is recruiting a part-time Adjunct Instructor for Economics and Finance to support an active faculty pool in San Jose, CA.

• Pay: $28.00–$34.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Teach clear, engaging, and effective Economics and Finance lectures for students with varying skill levels
• Apply innovative teaching methodologies to support student learning and academic progress
• Build an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and mathematical understanding
• Use technology and multimedia resources to enrich instruction and support interactive learning
• Deliver constructive feedback on academic performance, assignments, and problem sets aligned to learning outcomes
• Maintain regular communication with students, colleagues, and departmental leadership to support academic rigor and student success
• Attend departmental meetings, faculty development activities, and institutional initiatives to strengthen the academic community
• Complete ongoing professional development to improve teaching effectiveness and stay current with advancements in the field

Requirements

• Education: Master’s degree (MA) or higher in Economics, Finance, or a closely related field
• Strong knowledge of Economics/Finance concepts and demonstrated understanding of teaching methods and instructional practices
• Teaching experience: Previous teaching experience preferred, ideally at the college or university level
• Commitment to student-centered learning, academic excellence, and fostering an inclusive learning environment
• Familiarity with online teaching platforms and technology-enhanced learning methods is advantageous
