Job Description

Based in Columbus, Ohio, Huntington Bank seeks an experienced Associate Director of Portfolio Management for Asset Backed Finance to lead underwriting diligence and ongoing portfolio stewardship. The role collaborates with internal partners to evaluate new transactions and actively manage the existing portfolio, blending rigorous financial analysis with risk assessment to support complex credit decisions.

Experience and Education

A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics, or equivalent experience in a similar role at Huntington Bank or another financial institution. The position requires 5+ years of progressive experience in commercial credit analysis or portfolio management.

Role Overview

The Associate Director, Portfolio Management in Asset Backed Finance is responsible for partnering with internal teams to diligence and support underwriting of new transactions and to steward the current portfolio. The role may involve performing financial analysis and assisting with the preparation of underwriting documents for intricate credit requests.

Responsibilities

  • Review financial statements, projection models, cash flow models, and other relevant data to build a concise analytical foundation for credit decisions.
  • Gather and analyze financial and business information to assess creditworthiness for loans and credit products, evaluating business models, industry dynamics, cash flow, capitalization, sensitivity analyses, and risks with mitigants.
  • Conduct ongoing portfolio maintenance, including covenant monitoring, financial statement spreading, risk ratings, and quarterly risk reviews.
  • Assist in analysis and preparation for new deals.
  • Conduct research using multiple resources and distill key themes into concise summaries for presentation purposes.
  • Manage periodic fundings for transactions in the assigned portfolio and prepare tear sheets for risk reviews.
  • Participate in due diligence meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics or equivalent experience in a similar role within Huntington Bank or another financial institution.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in commercial credit analysis or portfolio management.
