Job Description
Associate Financial Planner role at Raymond James Financial, Inc., supporting financial planning, client service, and plan implementation through the Mainspring Wealth Advisors affiliate in Caldwell, ID (hybrid).
Responsibilities
- Facilitate account openings, transfers, and ongoing maintenance
- Support advisors with research, data entry, and plan implementation tasks
- Keep CRM records up to date and ensure compliance with policies
- Collaborate with the Financial Advisor to review current client portfolios, clarify goals, input client data, and perform financial analysis
- Assess retirement needs for individuals and employer-sponsored plans, explore options, and propose alternatives
- Perform thorough document reviews and analyze client information to formulate comprehensive financial planning recommendations
- Conduct information-gathering research as needed on a case-by-case basis
- Prepare client files for meetings with existing and prospective clients
- Coordinate communications with clients and follow through on required actions
- Respond to client questions by phone, email, and occasional in-person visits
- Conduct basic research on income tax topics, estate planning, and related legal issues; seek guidance when appropriate
- May participate in client presentations
- May open, transfer, or close client accounts and maintain accurate records
- May verify purchase and sale instructions, enter orders, and follow up on transaction completion
- Ensure adherence to firm policies and regulatory requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field with at least three years in the financial services industry focusing on financial, retirement and estate planning or marketing these services
- An equivalent combination of experience, education, and training as approved by Human Resources
- Securities Industry Essentials Exam (SIE)
- State-specific licenses may include Series 7, 63, 65, and/or 66, or the ability to obtain them within twelve months
- Proficiency with CRM software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Proficiency with Financial Planning software
- Knowledge of financial markets
- Travel required is less than 25%
