Job Description

The Financial Services Representative (FSR) supports sales and service delivery in the branch by building and expanding banking relationships through proactive outreach and customer service. The role focuses on deposit account openings, lending support, opportunity referral, and consistent adherence to regulatory and bank requirements in an onsite Huron, SD environment.

Role Overview

As an FSR, you will contribute to community-aligned sales and service execution while strengthening long-term customer relationships. Key duties include opening deposit accounts and related services, participating in lending activities (including consumer real estate secured), and identifying or referring sales opportunities to the appropriate bank partner.

Core Responsibilities

  • Meet individual and/or team financial, production, and relationship results based on assigned metrics and goals.
  • Align sales outcomes with community needs while supporting the organization’s commitment to diverse lending.
  • Engage customers, prospects, and referral sources through proactive outreach.
  • Represent the Bank in the community when appropriate by attending civic and community events to generate business and identify potential CRA opportunities.
  • Use sales practices designed to create value for both customers and the bank.
  • Partner on planning and preparation to ensure customer conversations include relevant financial guidance for informed decisions.
  • Build collaborative partnerships that deliver value for customers, prospects, and colleagues.
  • Initiate conversations to uncover sales or referral opportunities.
  • Listen attentively, ask insightful questions to understand customer needs and preferences, and take prompt action to address immediate needs.
  • Seek coaching, support bank initiatives, and leverage tools to optimize performance.
  • Comply with all regulations, bank policies, procedures, and delegated authorities related to credit, operational, reputational, regulatory, and legal risk for personal interactions, customer transactions, and financial exposures.
  • Complete required training by established deadlines.
  • Perform general office management duties as assigned to help maintain operational efficiency.
  • For associates in roles defined to take deposits: ensure transaction accuracy and operational efficiency for that function.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree and 1 years’ experience OR High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent and 5 years’ experience in Sales, customer service, or lending; or 6 months of experience in a customer support role at First Citizens Bank; or participation in a First Citizens career development program.
  • Sales Outreach: Self-starter who can manage daily calling activity to achieve required results.

Preferred Experience

  • Financial services sales and telephone sales.

Required Licenses or Certifications

  • Where licensing is required, associates must complete the bank sponsored licensing program within 12 months of entering the role.
