Job Description

Hard Rock Materials, Inc. seeks an onsite Chief Financial Officer in Green Cove Springs, FL to lead the financial health of its multi‑entity operations, with an annual salary range of USD 99,000 to 140,000.

Responsibilities

  • Help safeguard company assets by minimizing risk and maintaining an efficient financial operation.
  • Collaborate with owners and senior managers to develop budgets, provide access to project finance information, and ensure compliance.
  • Oversee tax compliance and filings.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation processes.
  • Administer all accounting activities within the QuickBooks Enterprise system.
  • Monitor business performance and provide actionable insights.
  • Lead the finance team in acquisitions and strategic planning efforts.
  • Supervise contracts and legal matters as part of the financial leadership.

Objectives of this role

  • Oversee cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, either directly or through staff, with reporting aligned to the CPA firm.
  • Strengthen the company’s financial health by managing reporting, directing investment activity, and shaping long‑term financial goals.
  • Coordinate the development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets and corresponding reporting.
  • Implement best practices and tools to maintain strong fiscal control while preserving flexibility, ensuring cross‑team coordination and clear workflows.
  • Maintain a forward‑looking perspective on the organization’s growth trajectory.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Proven track record as Finance Manager or CFO.
  • Experience across multiple businesses.
  • Demonstrated capability in acquisitions.
  • Minimum five years in executive leadership roles.
  • Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks and its internal workings.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning.
  • Working knowledge of raising capital outside traditional lines of credit.
  • Effective negotiating abilities.
  • Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, business management, or finance.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in construction or a related industry.
