Job Description
What we offer
This on-site Finance Analyst role in Camp Verde, AZ provides a competitive hourly wage of $25 to $36 and the chance to influence budgeting and financial planning for the town. You will report to the Finance Director and contribute to the annual Town-wide Financial Plan and the Five-Year Capital Plan, performing analyses and generating reports that support town operations. This position is well-suited for candidates with at least two years of accounting, finance, or budgeting experience and a high school diploma or GED.
Responsibilities
- Support the creation and distribution of department budget guidance and forms; assist Town departments with budget preparation; collect and review all annual budgets for accuracy and completeness.
- Develop and maintain the Annual Town-wide Financial Plan and the Five-Year Capital Plan; perform analyses in support of these plans and ongoing operations.
- Utilize financial software reporting tools to produce executive-level financial reports as well as revenue and payroll reports.
- Conduct financial analysis and research, prepare reports, and offer recommendations based on findings.
- Assist in drafting staff reports and resolutions for Town Council consideration.
- Analyze cash flow needs and help determine strategies to maintain adequate bank balances to fund expenditures while aiming to maximize interest earnings.
- Coordinate daily banking activities, process receipts and payments, and allocate charges across Town departments.
- Identify discrepancies, reconcile accounts, and prepare adjustments to financial records.
- Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls and procedures.
- Handle accounts payable duties including invoice entry, requisitions, purchase orders, and bi-weekly processing; provide AP assistance and training to other departments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Two years of accounting, finance, or budgeting experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
Supplemental Information
An Associates degree in Accounting is preferred but not required.
