Job Description

The Finance Manager FP&A role for AWS Applied AI Solutions Core Services Finance provides strategic financial leadership in partnership with senior leadership. The position focuses on pricing strategy, FP&A, and controllership to drive revenue growth, maintain cost discipline, and sustain long term profitability. This onsite role is based in Seattle, WA, with a compensation range of USD 95,400 to 163,200 per year and requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field along with at least five years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business leaders to shape strategic plans, build financial models, and extract actionable insights.
  • Lead the development and rollout of the long range strategic plan, annual plan, and quarterly forecasts.
  • Apply data driven analytics to influence executive decisions that grow revenue and reinforce cost discipline.
  • Cultivate a culture of leadership and strategic thinking within the team to pursue long term profitability goals.
  • Develop data driven pricing approaches to enhance market competitiveness and margins.
  • Oversee financial aspects of Private Purchase Agreements to secure favorable terms.
  • Perform scenario analyses across pricing models to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Direct FP&A activities, constructing models to measure financial performance.
  • Prepare forecasts and present insights to senior leadership.
  • Support revenue modeling and initiatives aimed at cost savings.
  • Assess new business opportunities through financial analysis.
  • Deliver precise, insight driven financial reporting to inform executive decisions.
  • Maintain rigorous financial controls and reporting standards to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance analytical capability while preserving control frameworks.
  • Foster cross functional collaboration to align diverse teams with strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (engineering, math, or computer science are acceptable).
  • 5+ years of experience dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy.
  • 5+ years of leading cross functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six or more years solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate financial models, analyses, and recommendations that yield tangible impact such as cost savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits.
  • MBA or CPA credential.
  • Keen knowledge of SQL and ETL processes.
  • Experience with large scale data mining and reporting tools (examples include SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and enterprise systems (Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and interpreting results.
  • Six or more years applying key financial performance indicators to analyses.
  • Six or more years building financial and operational reports and data sets that inform business decisions.
  • Six or more years participating in continuous improvement projects to scale controllership with measurable results.
