Space Information Laboratories is offering an on site Financial Analyst role in Santa Maria, California. Responsibilities
- Prepare, coordinate, and document financial analysis projects, including assessments of expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital, and investments
- Generate estimates at completion, monitor contract performance against budget and schedule, track results, and report variances with recovery plans as required by the program manager
- Conduct a broad range of financial analyses including unit cost manufacturing, production cost pools, and tracking material movement to ensure proper cost allocations
- Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to senior management
- Contribute analyses for forward looking financial and business related projects
- Collaborate with team members to identify and standardize best practices to drive consistency across programs and analysts
- Create and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensure financial information is recorded accurately
- Lead annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting processes
- Identify opportunities for performance improvement across the organization
- Develop models to support decision making
- May conduct special financial and business studies and cooperate with other departments in the preparation of analyses
- Prepare forecasts and trend analyses in manufacturing, sales, finance, general business conditions, and related areas
- Identify trends and developments in competitive environments and present findings to senior management
- Oversee junior team members
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field; minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- High proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint
- Knowledge of government accounting (FAR) and GAAP
- Excellent analytical, decision making, and problem solving skills
- Attention to accuracy and detail
- Advanced knowledge of resource planning and financial systems; strong internet and computer literacy
- Advanced professional communication skills, including the ability to prepare materials and clearly communicate information to internal and external audiences, client groups, and management
- Eligible for U.S. security clearance; this is a hard requirement
