Financial Analyst

St Luke’s Sugar Land Hospital is seeking a Financial Analyst to support core hospital financial objectives across its Texas market. In this onsite role in Sugar Land, TX, you will analyze financial results, help strengthen month-end and reporting accuracy, and partner with internal stakeholders to improve both revenue performance and expense management.

You will also contribute to forecasting and budgeting, support capital project analysis, and coordinate with external parties during audits and tax return preparation. The position includes handling special projects and responding constructively to unanticipated issues that may arise in a healthcare environment.

What you will do

• Support the month-end close for hospital financial reporting, including preparing monthly journal entries.
• Perform financial and variance analysis, including expense analysis and revenue analysis.
• Prepare lead schedules monthly with drill-down detail on P&L accounts to explain monthly performance.
• Build financial forecasts using modeling software.
• Develop detailed department budgets and review actual vs. budget results.
• Partner with departments to create action plans aimed at reducing budget variances.
• Analyze capital projects using modeling software.
• Evaluate all relevant data and consider issues thoroughly before making recommendations.
• Address unanticipated events and crisis situations in a positive and constructive manner.
• Identify opportunities and suggest new, innovative procedures or ideas to improve job and hospital services.
• Complete special projects as assigned, including understanding scope, gathering information, and performing analysis.
• Prepare summary analysis, recommendations, and presentation materials, and complete any necessary follow-up or review.
• Coordinate with auditors during annual audits.
• Coordinate and/or prepare annual IRS tax returns/forms.
• Maintain confidentiality of hospital information.

What you will need

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a closely related field.
• Preferred: Five years of experience in a Finance or Accounting position.
• Preferred: 3 years of experience in a hospital setting.

Where you will work

This onsite role will support Brazosport, Patients Medical Center, and Sugar Land facilities within the Texas market.

Compensation

Pay range: $26.06 - $36.81 per hour.
