Job Description

The Home Depot Co is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst in Financial Planning & Analysis to strengthen budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making from our Atlanta, GA onsite office. This role focuses on building robust projection models, analyzing variances, and interpreting financial statements to support management and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain sophisticated financial projection models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis reporting to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Prepare and interpret financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS.
  • Perform comprehensive profit and loss analysis to evaluate business performance and inform management decisions.
  • Support regulatory reporting requirements by ensuring accurate financial data collection and compliance with SOX controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on pricing strategies, sales forecasts, and investment analyses to maximize profitability.
  • Utilize business intelligence tools to generate insightful reports that enhance financial understanding across departments.
  • Assist in the development of financial concepts related to corporate finance, cost accounting, and organizational efficiency initiatives.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles including GAAP and IFRS, with experience in financial statement preparation and interpretation.
  • Proficiency in financial software applications and advanced Excel skills for financial model development.
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance, regulatory reporting, and technical accounting standards.
  • Expertise in financial analysis techniques such as variance analysis, quantitative analysis, and cost accounting.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes within a corporate environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills for clear financial report writing and presentation of complex data insights.
  • Solid foundation in corporate accounting practices including public accounting exposure is a plus.
