Responsibilities
- Oversee nonprofit audit engagements from planning through final reporting, directing engagement teams
- Guide and mentor audit staff and seniors, ensuring high quality work
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, GAAS, and nonprofit regulations, including Uniform Guidance and Single Audits where applicable
- Assess internal controls and audit risk for nonprofit clients
- Review financial statements, management letters, and audit reports for accuracy and clarity
- Manage timelines and budgets to ensure timely and efficient audit delivery
- Stay current on changes in auditing standards and nonprofit regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree preferred
- CPA license required
- Minimum of 5-7 years of public accounting audit experience
- Experience auditing nonprofit organizations
- Proven experience managing multiple engagements
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and nonprofit accounting standards
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Single Audit/Uniform Guidance: 3 years (Preferred)
- Management: 3 years (Preferred)
- Accounting: 5 years (Required)
- Financial auditing: 5 years (Required)
- Non-profit auditing: 3 years (Required)
