Financial Crimes - Senior Data Scientist

KeyBank National Association is hiring a Financial Crimes Senior Data Scientist to support AML/BSA/OFAC analytics and quantitative model work on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities

• Under manager oversight, perform quantitative work including model development and ad hoc analytics to meet financial crime compliance needs in AML/BSA/OFAC
• Research, compile, and evaluate large datasets to assess data quality and determine suitability for model building
• Develop and maintain internal models; test and configure vendor solutions to support conceptually sound design, correct implementation, and acceptable model performance
• Document model development processes and outcomes; support model validation and review
• Use innovative techniques to improve model effectiveness and efficiency, including reducing false positives
• Build technical skills and business knowledge proactively; collaborate effectively with compliance, technology, and risk partners

Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, data sciences, predictive modeling, or other quantitative disciplines
• At least 3 years of relevant experience (preferred experience: AML/BSA, OFAC, or fraud modeling/analytics)
• If holding a bachelor’s degree: 4 years of relevant experience
• Strong expertise in both traditional and Machine Learning (ML) / Artificial Intelligence (AI) modeling practices and solutions
• Hands-on coding experience with SAS and/or Python
• Knowledge of traditional databases, cloud-based computing, and distributed computing
• Knowledge of financial crime regulatory requirements, technology, and data analysis best practices
• Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills, including translating technical findings to non-technical audiences
• Location requirement: located in or willing to relocate to Cleveland, OH or Buffalo, NY

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary range: $94,000.00 - $175,000.00 annually
• Placement within the pay range may vary based on factors including skills, experience, and geographic location
