Financial Services Representative (Licensed Personal Banker)
Job Description
First Citizens Bank is seeking a Financial Services Representative (Licensed Personal Banker) to support sales and service delivery from the Asheville, NC branch. In this onsite role, you will proactively connect with customers, help open deposit and related services, and identify lending or investment opportunities while supporting branch production and relationship goals.
You will balance customer-facing conversations with the discipline required to meet metrics, deliver value through structured sales interactions, and operate in line with regulations, bank policies, and delegated authorities.
What you’ll do
- Work toward individual and/or team financial, production, and relationship results tied to assigned metrics and goals.
- Engage customers, prospects, and referral sources through proactive outreach and timely follow-up.
- Initiate conversations to uncover sales and referral opportunities, using attentive listening and insightful questions to understand needs and preferences.
- Provide relevant financial guidance to support informed decisions, including partnering, planning, and preparation ahead of customer discussions.
- Foster collaborative relationships across customers, prospects, and colleagues to deliver value.
- Represent the Bank in the community by participating in civic and community events to generate business and identify potential CRA opportunities.
- Optimize performance by seeking coaching, supporting bank initiatives, and leveraging tools that enhance day-to-day activities.
- Comply with all regulations, bank policies, procedures, and delegated authorities to manage risk across credit, operational, reputational, regulatory, and legal areas.
- Complete required training by established deadlines.
- Perform general office management duties as assigned to support operational efficiency.
- Where applicable for deposit-focused roles, maintain transaction accuracy and operational efficiency for that function.
- Manage risk and performance accountability for both individual contribution and team performance.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience and a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Ability to operate as a self-starter with daily calling activity discipline to achieve required results.
- Comfort engaging proactively in customer conversations and building trust and confidence.
- Quick learning and adaptability to new information and technology.
- Strong relationship-building skills across the team and cross-functional partners, including rapport with different personalities.
- Capacity to process information and move quickly through problem resolution.
- Application of a structured sales process and ability to provide financial guidance and expertise, supported by financial literacy.
- Knowledge of retail banking products and services, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Licenses and certifications
- Series 6 or 7 and Series 63, plus state specific life insurance licenses.
- If licensing is required, complete the bank sponsored licensing program within 12 months of entering the role.
Position details
