Job Description

The FP&A Claims Analyst role at GEICO partners with Claims leadership to translate financial and analytical information into actionable recommendations. The position focuses on modeling, scenario analysis, and decision support that help improve claim outcomes and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models that support business performance and reporting.
  • Create tools, projections, and scenario analyses to assess business risk and future outlook.
  • Identify major business drivers, quantify their impacts, and evaluate implications of operational changes.
  • Work with large, complex datasets to detect trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Perform sensitivity and trade-off analyses linked to core business levers.
  • Develop insight-led narratives that connect financial results to operational drivers.
  • Move beyond descriptive reporting by diagnosing issues and surfacing potential corrective actions.
  • Build, improve, and maintain analytical tools, templates, and dashboards for repeatable decision support.
  • Enhance data usability, documentation, and overall analytical efficiency.
  • Collaborate with peers and leaders to evolve analytical frameworks over time.
  • Partner with Product and other cross-functional stakeholders to understand business context and decision needs.
  • Prepare presentations and readouts by translating analyses into clear, decision-ready materials.
  • Handle ad hoc analytical requests with speed, accuracy, and thoughtful interpretation.
  • Deliver accurate, timely analysis and reporting to support business decision-making.
  • Manage moderately complex analytical projects involving ambiguous business questions.
  • Balance multiple priorities while sustaining strong analytical rigor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a relative quantitative field (preferred).
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in FP&A, Finance, or a similar role.
  • Insurance industry knowledge (preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft tools.
  • SQL and Power BI knowledge (preferred, but not required).
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual Salary: USD 77,900 to 129,150.

Work Location

Hybrid role in Bethesda, MD. On-site attendance is required 3 days per week at one of the following office locations: Chicago, IL or Bethesda, MD.
