Job Description

In the onsite Topeka, Kansas role of Manager Corporate Finance and Decision Support, you will lead the corporate finance and decision-support function, collaborating with finance and business intelligence teams to shape budgets, analyze performance, build financial models, and drive strategic growth initiatives including mergers and acquisitions and market expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with finance business partners to manage the annual budgeting cycle, gather financial insights from divisional leaders, and develop accurate corporate budgets and forecasts aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Prepare, synthesize, and present comprehensive financial reports and presentations to senior management and key stakeholders, highlighting findings, trends, and actionable recommendations for performance improvement.
  • Monitor actual performance against targets and budgets; conduct in-depth analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, addressing discrepancies and coordinating corrective actions as needed.
  • Partner with the Business Intelligence team to establish KPIs and other decision-support measures that guide strategic choices, ensuring analytics support executive decision making.
  • Build and maintain scalable financial models that yield actionable insights for business and investment decisions, using scenario analysis to evaluate opportunities and risks and deliver data-driven recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Support development of business cases and financial strategies for growth initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, product launches, market expansion, and margin improvements; assess financial impacts and propose strategies to sustain growth.
  • Stay informed on economic, competitive, and market conditions, communicating relevant financial implications to stakeholders and outlining potential operational impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and corporate policies; collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to uphold best practices and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Information Systems team to enhance Adaptive Insights functionality; drive automation of reporting processes and streamline planning systems to improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Lead efforts to evolve financial models and reporting processes as the business changes, establishing repeatable and scalable workflows for planning, reporting, and forecasting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity

Compensation

  • USD 116,000 to 145,000 per year
  • Exempt Grade 18
  • Compensation is a good faith estimate and may vary based on qualifications; offers are reviewed to ensure fair and competitive pay

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Exceptional analytical capabilities with a proven ability to extract insights from financial data to inform business decisions
  • Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; experience with Adaptive Insights is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with demonstrated collaboration across departments
  • High integrity and meticulous attention to detail

Bonus if you have

  • Five or more years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with substantial financial modeling or scenario planning experience
