Security Flex Officer
Job Description
Allied Universal is seeking a Security Flex Officer to support a Financial Center in Downtown Pittsburgh, providing client service, site protection, and rapid response to security-related incidents. This onsite role includes patrol coverage and the ability to transition between post assignments as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct security patrols of assigned areas on foot or by vehicle
- Monitor for irregular or unusual conditions that could create security concerns or safety hazards
- Trigger alarms and contact police or the fire department in the event of fire or unauthorized persons on site
- Address rule violations by warning offenders, including issues such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
- Allow entry for authorized individuals and monitor entrances and exits
- Observe departing personnel to help prevent theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property meets client requirements
- Investigate and document accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain required written logs for the post
- Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
- Complete emergency notifications as necessary in accordance with site Post Orders
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
- Licensing requirements may be subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
- Valid driver’s license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- Successful background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with federal, state, and local laws; qualified applications with criminal histories will be considered consistent with applicable laws
- Drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law
- Be at least 18 years of age, or older if required by state (21 years if armed)
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and accurately
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively, identifying critical issues quickly and accurately
- Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy
- Teamwork and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (examples include Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic)
- Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience
Compensation and Location
Location: Pittsburgh, PA (onsite). Pay: USD 20 - 25 per hour.
