Job Description

Cesna Recruitment is hiring a Senior Finance Manager (or Finance Director) to lead finance operations for US entities and support consolidated reporting in close partnership with the Korea corporate office. The role is based in Los Angeles, CA and requires bilingual Korean and English communication, with a focus on controller responsibilities, consolidation, and technical reporting under GAAP and IFRS.

This position manages the accounting team’s day-to-day execution, oversees the close cycle, and ensures accurate financial statements for both individual reporting units and consolidated companies. You will also coordinate external audit and tax processes, monitor consolidated cash flow, and provide recurring reporting and data support required by headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as controller for the US entities and their subsidiaries within a consolidating entity structure, coordinating regularly with headquarters in Korea, including periodic communications with Hospital (HPMC, main subsidiary in US).
  • Run the daily operations of the accounting team, ensuring internal control processes are followed.
  • Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing, including review of staff preparation and journal entries to the general ledger and related schedules to support timely and accurate reporting in line with GAAP.
  • Prepare financial statements for individual reporting units and consolidated companies according to GAAP or IFRS.
  • Perform financial analysis versus budget, including flux analysis.
  • Support external audits by preparing and submitting audit documentation.
  • Prepare supporting data for tax returns, coordinating with tax CPAs, and review internal tax filings prior to submission to government agencies.
  • Monitor and review daily cash flow for US entities at the consolidation level.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting team members, providing guidance on technical accounting issues and performance development.
  • Manage consolidated group budget for local US entities and prepare forecast for PL, BS, and CF at the consolidation level.
  • Prepare and report financial data and respond to information requests required by headquarters, including queries and data requests from banks or investors.
  • Handle additional administration duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Business, preferably business administration, economy, or accounting.
  • 12+ years of finance and accounting management experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • At least 3 years of consolidation accounting experience, including communications with external auditors and accounting advisories.
  • Detail oriented with strong critical thinking and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines under pressure; strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Bilingual (Korean & English) is required.
  • QuickBooks experience preferred; SAP also listed in required technologies.
  • CPA or a Master in Finance & Accounting preferred.
