Job Description
Haynes and Boone, LLP offers a leadership-focused role in a national and international business development program. Based in Dallas, TX (onsite), the Senior Manager of Business Development for Leveraged and Real Estate Finance and Restructuring guides BD strategy and leads a marketing team to generate profitable new business from existing and targeted clients across the Leveraged Finance, Real Estate Finance, and Restructuring groups.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of marketing and business development strategies, plans and projects, nationally and internationally.
- Collaborate with lawyers to identify and evaluate new business opportunities and targets, facilitate cross-collaboration initiatives, participate on client-specific target teams, and support lawyers in maintaining the sales pipeline.
- Act as the BD lead on firmwide initiatives and projects, working directly with firm management and presenting progress and results to leadership.
- Provide proactive counsel to lawyers on business development best practices, strategies and techniques.
- Stay abreast of current developments and trends impacting clients and prospects through proactive market research; collaborate with the Competitive Intelligence team to secure actionable intelligence on market and industry developments.
- Manage, counsel and mentor a dedicated team of marketing professionals supporting designated groups.
- Effectuate the successful integration of lateral partners into the firm, with a special focus on target priorities.
- Identify opportunities to promote our lawyers and clients via awards, recognition and ranking opportunities in collaboration with section leadership.
- Supervise all projects, events, RFP/RFI/proposal/pitch opportunities, deal tracking, directory submissions, and related activities, ensuring quality assurance on work product.
- Coordinate with Public Relations/Media and Social Media groups to secure effective exposure for the practice groups and their lawyers.
- Develop and manage the group business development budgets for the designated sections and offices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- 10+ years of marketing, business development, or related experience required

Reporting Relationship
Reports to: Director of Business Development with a dotted line to the Chief Marketing Officer.

Responsible for managing a specialist and an assistant.
Physical Demands
- Remains stationary at least 75% of the time
- When coordinating or attending special events, may move around up to 100% of the time
- Constantly operates computers, printers and other office productivity machines
- Occasionally required to move documents or files weighing up to 15 lbs
- Requires constant communication with firm lawyers, clients and staff
- Must be able to inspect and observe information on a computer screen at least 80% of the time
Working Conditions
- Office environment
- Work frequently requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties
- Occasional travel may be required
