The Manager, Business Development for Debt Finance (Americas) is based in New York and will drive strategic planning, client development, and marketing execution for the Americas Debt Finance Regional Section, spanning both US and international markets.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Americas Debt Finance BD team and partners to develop and implement the regional business plan, marketing plans, and key initiatives.
- Lead the development and execution of marketing plans for one or two Debt Finance pillar groups, such as Borrower Finance, Private Credit, Bank Lending, and Specialty Finance.
- Assist in the integration of new lawyers joining the firm.
- Coordinate with other Section and Industry BD teams on joint marketing and BD initiatives.
- Lead the preparation of domestic and cross-border pitches, proposals, capability statements, and presentation materials.
- Support the development of priority Debt Finance client relationships, including client action plan design and execution.
- Coordinate client, market, sector, and decision-maker research as required.
- Develop and maintain marketing collateral, including placemats, brochures, experience statements, key messages, presentations, transaction lists, external website and intranet content, and lawyer biographies; ensure materials are current and consistently written.
- Contribute to league table and legal directory submissions.
- Manage award and ranking opportunities and lead the related submissions.
- Support thought leadership by monitoring trends and distributing relevant pieces.
- Assess the value and cost/benefits of profile-raising opportunities to maximize benefits from every opportunity.
- Manage internal marketing information flows regarding new and active matters and closed deals to ensure proper profiling.
- Maintain Debt Finance capability statements and key experience lists in the central pitch material repository.
- Maintain the Firm’s CRM database to track priority client contacts and support BD activities, coordinating information gathering and reporting to Section lawyers and client teams.
- Collaborate with the central events team to plan Debt Finance client and multi-client events.
- Coordinate involvement with industry associations and groups, including participation and sponsorship of industry conferences to maximize benefits.

- Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Six or more years of experience in a law firm or other professional services firm; candidates with different levels of experience may be considered if they demonstrate leadership and operating at a partnership level.
- Private Equity, Capital Markets, Corporate, Banking, Debt Finance, Restructuring & Insolvency experience is preferred but not essential.

Location and Reporting
This is a full-time onsite role based in New York. The position reports to the Director, Global Finance Practice Group.
Compensation
Salary range: USD 136,000 to 190,000 per year.
